The 16^th shooting competition in honor of colonel O.Kalpaks (6-7 MAR 2009)

Aim of the competition.

1. To ascertain the best shooters in the Zemessardze (Home Guard) of the Republic of Latvia.
2. To continue the corporation between the Zemessardze of the Republic of Latvia and armed forces from other countries.
Both days competition will be held in all 3 disciplines. Team consists from 3 shooters, which are appointed before the competition.
The competition will be held according the shooting rules certified by the Latvian Shooting Federation

Place and time.
The competition will take place in Riga, Cieceres street 9 and will be held from 6^th to 7^th of March, 2009.

Participants.

1. Teams and individual participants from Latvian Home Guard battalions.

2. Teams from foreign countries (no more than two teams form one organisation).

Disciplines.

1. Shooting with cal.22 LR pistols MC, MCM, MC Margo in 25m distances. International precision target. 1 sighting series and 3 competition series with 5 shots:

1 sighting series – 5 shots in 10 seconds.

1^st competition series – 5 shots in 12 seconds;

2^nd competition series – 5 shots in 10 seconds;

3^rd competition series – 5 shots in 8 seconds.

2. Shooting with duty (service) pistols. Calibre 7,62mm – 11,43mm. Length of barrel – not longer than 135 mm. Distance – 25 metres. Shooting with one or both hands. 3 competition series and one sighting series.

1 sighting series – 3 shots in 30 seconds.

1^st competition series – 5 shots in 20 seconds – standing. Starting position – one or both hands

in 45⁰;

2^nd competition series – 5 shots in 20 seconds – shooting from knee. Starting position – one or

both hands in 90⁰;

3^rd competition series – 5 + 5 shots in 60 seconds – standing and shooting from knee. Starting

position – one or both hands in 45⁰. Shooting with magazine changing.

3. Shooting with submachine guns MP – Carl Gustaf M45.Calibre - 9 mm. Distance – 50 metres.

one sighting series and 3 competition series with 10 shots from 3 positions:

1 sighting series – 5 shots in 120 seconds;

1^st competition series – 10 shots prone position without support in 120 seconds;

2^nd competition series – 10 shots kneeing (or sitting) position in 120 seconds,

3^rd competition series – 10 shots in standing position in 150 seconds.

4. Military rapid fire - special competition between countries champion teams. Shooting with cal.22 LR pistols MC, MCM, MC Margo. Shooting with one hand. Distance – 25 metres. Competition consists of:

1 sighting series – 5 shots in 10 seconds;

1^st competition series – 5 shots in 10 seconds;

2^nd competition series – 5 shots in 10 seconds;

3^rd competition series – 5 shots in 8 seconds;

4^th competition series – 5 shots in 8 seconds;

5^th competition series – 5 shots in 6 seconds;

6^th competition series – 5 shots in 6 seconds.

Discipline No.4 will be held on the 7^th of March after the discipline No.1 will be over.

Weapons.

Organisers will provide competition teams with weapons and ammunition. Participants can take their own cal.22 LR pistols MC, MCM, MC Margo and pistols calibre 7,62mm – 11,43mm.

Dress code.

Participants are requested to use combat dress or service dress during the competition

10.30 Competition in disciplines No.1, No.2 and No.3.

09.00 Competition in all disciplines;

approx.15.00 Rewarding and closing ceremony.
